The Design Process Step 1

Step 1

Come into the showroom to touch and feel the quality of the furniture, this is the only way you will get a feeling for what you desire. There are many different brands of furniture out there so it is recommended you take the time to shop around and decide on your preferred finishes, textures and materials to suit your needs, there is no substitute for experiencing these things in the ‘flesh’. Amanda will talk you through some of the myriad of design choices, colours, materials and appliances available to you to get your ‘wish list’ started.

Step 2

Either bring architect plans into the studio or your own detailed plans for an extension or renovation project, or make an appointment with Amanda to visit your home to measure the space available. At this point she will get an idea of how you live, the orientation of the room and your tastes, she will ask you all about your wish list and will discuss your preferred choices of appliances, brands and an idea of budget for the project.

Step 3

Amanda will design several layouts for the space, this will be translated into a computer aided drawing and detailed plans, from which a costing can be prepared. Design and costings can be altered to incorporate different door and worktop finishes, appliances and any other changes you require. Every kitchen layout is a bespoke design to fully accommodate your needs, when we design a kitchen we also consider the context in which it will be installed taking care over the tiniest of details to ensure that it fits perfectly into your world.

Step 4

Once the design is agreed and you are happy and excited about your planned kitchen/bedroom, the order can then be placed with the various manufacturers. The estimated delivery will be 4-8 weeks from placing the order so it is best if you work back from when you want the kitchen installed so ensure that it will be with you in time. This whole process will take around 12 weeks so don’t leave it too late to start designing your room.

Step 5

The kitchen/bedroom arrives either directly to your home from the manufacturer or via the showroom depending on the build schedule. Our dedicated team of installers will fit the kitchen to our exacting standards and your worktops may then have to be templated to ensure that they fit correctly, or if it is a straight forward design the tops may arrive with your kitchen.

Step 6

Enjoy your new kitchen, invite friends round and cook to your hearts desire!
